Lake Charles is "ground zero" for claims suites

​The city has just over 81,000 residents, but courts in Lake Charles are home to one in five federal insurance lawsuits in the nation, reports The Advocate (10/21/22, Maschke). A litigation researcher calls the city “ground zero" for such claims. Meanwhile, Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon heads to London to meet with insurance leaders about the Louisiana market, reports the Insurance Journal (10/24/22, South Central News).​
