Description
This two hour seminar is designed to teach risk managers about Active Shooter / Workplace Violence Risk & Insurance Programs. By learning about Active Shooter / Workplace Violence Risk & Insurance Programs, attendees will better serve their organizations. The rising numbers of Active Shooter / Deadly Weapon attacks are a bit staggering with organizations having a duty of care to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors. In the event of an active shooter attack, they could be held liable. There are significant challenges to organizations in securing their place of business while managing a vast throughput of people. These organizations are particularly at risk from a lone attacker who could enter unchallenged. Organizations have realized large financial losses and have been successfully sued for negligent security. With the increased publicity of recent shootings McGowan’s Active Shooter/Workplace Violence Insurance, was recently highlighted in interviews with national news with Reuters / The Wall Street Journal / RISK&INSURANCE along with a nice pod cast with PRIMA (Public Risk Management Association). We feel education is critical and our local agents partners should reach out to the local media and community to do the same. Active Shooter/Workplace Violence Insurance covers liability and extra expenses tied to shootings, providing victim death benefits with additional medical expense benefits. The program considers all classes of business, including but not limited to government agencies, education, religious institutions, hospitality, entertainment, retail, and public entities. The program also covers a wide range of attack-types, such as knife and vehicular attacks, rather than solely deadly attacks committed with a firearm.
