to 12,000 homeowners submitted applications to the state’s fortified roof grant
program over a few days in September, and the state has doubled the number of
$10,000 grants it will award, reports The Advocate (10/2/24, Mitchell).
The state wants to keep the program going, but it’s not clear where funding
would come from.
