RATES GOING UP—AND DOWN—FOR POLICYHOLDERS

State regulators approved a rate decrease that will average 7.5 percent for two Louisiana property insurers, while State Farm received approval for an increase of about 10 percent, reports Louisiana Radio Network (12/15/25, Gallinaro). On the whole, homeowners are still seeing rate increases, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune (12/12/25, Karlin). At the same time, more than one million State Farm auto-insurance policyholders in Louisiana will see a dip in premiums averaging 5.9 percent, reports the Insurance Journal (12/12/25, Amacher).
